These cups are made here in the United States of America by a small company that has been in business since 1974 producing feed and water containers for caged animals and poultry. These cups hang off the wire. They are boil and freeze-resistant for strength and sanitation. They are thick, flexible plastic, therefore they are not prone to freeze and bust. For ice removal and to prevent breaking, it is best to only half-fill them in the winter. We have several more sizes available in our Amazon Store. I have used hanging water cups on my farm for many years. Hanging feed and water cups are advantageous because they stay cleaner, chickens aren't as prone to kick dirt in their cups, and earthworms don't crawl into them and die. Water and feed bowls on the ground can also become a home for vermin and insects. I have a lot of movable pens that I continually move to fresh grass, and it is a lot easier if the cup is hanging on the pen. Fresh clean water helps birds stay healthy, hydrated, and happy. These cups are boil and freeze-resistant; It is recommended to only half-fill them during the winter for ice removal and to prevent breaking
